Using Computed Tomography in Evaluation of Equine Dental Disease by T.A. Banner - AAEP Focus 2006

Abstract

Horses requiring a complete and thorough evaluation of the head are seldom evaluated using CT, even though CT has been established as a useful technique for evaluating dental-related disease and other complex abnormalities of the equine skull. Abnormalities of the head diagnosed using CT include osseous fracture, apical dental infection, and neoplasia. Protocols for the use of CT in evaluating the equine head have been previously described.
